Wowza Server Upgrade 12/30/2009
Wednesday, December 30th, 2009We have updated to Wowza Server 2.0! This allows you to move BEYOND just flash streaming!
Effective immediately you will be able to start streaming using the H.264 codec. This allows you to stream to:
- Apple iPhone and iPod touch
- Microsoft Silverlight
- Apple QuickTime and other RTSP clients
- Set-top boxes

Partial Outage
Friday, December 18th, 2009Some customers may have noticed a partial outage between 5:40PM PST and 5:46PM PST. This was due to a routing issue with our upstream which has been rectified.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Follow up to 1.1 – Release 1.1.1
Thursday, December 17th, 2009We’re following up with a few small fixes and updates from last night’s release. Enjoy!
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed CSS Bugs
- Fixed issue with display emails when none had been sent
- Fixed issue with Service Updates not showing “-” correctly
- Added note that we no longer support directly purging, we purge entire cache.
- Fixed errors with table headers for reports
- Fixed invite user Agreement URL
- Fixed issue with Cities Graph when large values were used
Improvements:
- Changed default caching time to 24hrs
- Changed some text for Payments
- Added a “Buy Button” to the main account page
New Control Panel / API – Release 1.1
Wednesday, December 16th, 2009I’m proud to announce the team here has been burning the midnight oil to get version 1.1 of the software out.
Great work Bryan, Don, Billy, Steve, David and Vlad! Thank you as well to all the beta testers.

- Dashboard widgets
- Sidebar with Summaries
- New Zone listing on the Dashboard – Zones are identified by their custom domains for easier access.
- Added Network Map
- Pull Zone Functionality Change
- Replaced directory purge with “Purge All” cache on Edge Servers
- Pull Zones now respect Control Headers
- Billing integration inside of the Control Panel
- Ability to prepay for bandwidth via Credit card or Paypal
- Edit billing info that is on file
- View old invoices and all emails we send out
- Added service updates inside of Control Panel
- API
- Ability to assign API keys to individual zones
- Bug Fixes
- Added additional error checking for Invite User
- Added message to Internet Explorer 6 and below users that the Control Panel will not work fully for them.
- API Key shows the Key ID as well as the Hash
- Displays correct error when Adobe Flash is not installed
- Live Zones now directs you to contact support for more information as they are not live inside of the Control Panel yet
- Fixed issues where change password would not work
- Edge Server Software v1.1 (Was rolled out the first and second weeks of December)
- Edges do not need to reload when changes are made
- gets rid of any chance for a split-second outage
- Ability to purge all cache (and removed directory cache) that the Edge servers hold
- Automatic buffering of large files in Pull Zones on downloads of large files
- Pull Zones will respect and honor backend Cache-Control Headers
- Set the ground work for supporting multiple Custom Domain names (to be released in Control Panel 1.2)
- Edges do not need to reload when changes are made
